CHARACTER

An excellent combination of premium white tea and jasmine flowers. When aromatized, the fluffy buds of white tea are best able to absorb the scent of fresh flowers spread over them. The result is a sweeter, lighter-tasting base tea than the green tea varieties, where the jasmine is full-bodied but airy, concentrated but fresh, building on the distinctive white tea flavour. This is a smoother, calmer version of the jasmine teas, not bitter with prolonged steeping. THE CURRENT 2022 TEA IS SWEETER THAN LAST YEAR’S JASMINE WHITE 🙂

The jasmine flower scenting originated in Persia and came to China in the 3rd century. It became popular during the Song Dynasty in the 10th-13th centuries.

Medicinal benefits of jasmine

TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) also considers jasmine inflorescence as a medicinal herb, in addition to being a common ingredient in Far Eastern beautifying and perfumery products. In terms of its effects, it is believed to relieve pain, reduce water retention, detoxify, strengthen the immune system and harmonize the body’s energies. Its fresh, clean scent neutralizes unpleasant odors. Helps to treat symptoms associated with cardiovascular diseases such as palpitations, difficulty breathing, headaches, dizziness.
For women, its skin beautifying properties are also worth highlighting as it is an effective and gentle antidote to unwanted blemishes and discoloration.
It reduces mental symptoms of fatigue, has a calming and stress-relieving effect and helps in cases of insomnia.
Long-term consumption helps to prevent the onset of diabetes, harmonises the stomach and relieves abdominal cramps.

DOSAGE & BREWING GUIDELINE

A) Traditional way in a gaiwan/clay teapot: 3-5 grams + 150 ml water. According to the Gongfucha, it can be boiled several times at 80°C, with 40-60 seconds infusions.

B) Modern brewing in a jug: 3-5 grams + 300-500 ml water.  It can be infused with 80 C° water 2-3 times after 2-3 minutes of brewing.
