Description
ORIGIN & HARVEST TIME
Taiwan, Lugu, Sun Moon Lake, Nantou, 2023 winter
CHARACTER
A sweet-scented and caramel-flavoured, very lightly oxidised, medium roasted oolong from the original growing area. Its yellowish-brown, thick brew is reminiscent of cinnamon, creamy coffee with a hint of green tea. An exciting and enjoyable flavour combination that became very popular in the 1980s. Tea cultivation in the Lugu area dates back to the Qing period, with immigrant Chinese settlers planting the first bushes. The technique of making oolong tea also originated in China.
Dong Ding Mountain, with its 800m altitude, is not considered a high mountain region, so the later appearance of similar but high mountain teas has replaced the original. However, if you like the creamier taste and texture of the true milk-nut version with a nice spicy sweetness, you will really find your match in this tea 🙂
