CHARACTER

An early spring, tender, fragrant green tea from Wulingshan, picked with a single bud and a one leaf. This mountain range on the border of four provinces – Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou and Chongqing – is a high-quality green tea producing area, also known as the “Green Heart” of China. Surrounded by clouds and mists, the mountains are home to nearly a hundred peaks over 1,000 metres high. The relative humidity of the air in the Wuling Mountains is close to 80%, which makes it very easy to generate alpine rain clouds and fog. The sunlight filtering through the clouds favours the formation of aromatic compounds, amino acids and polysaccharides in the tea. This is why Wuling Mountain teas are sweet, intensely aromatic and refreshing, but also very rich in content. Alongside the great classics, this is a valuable and promising region to explore for green tea lovers.

The taste is fresh, sweet, full-bodied and very intense in flavour and aroma. The most characteristic flavours are sugar, corn and citrusy sourness, accompanied by a lovely floral, carnation-like aroma. A fresh, fragrant, mineral taste high mountain tea, the infusion is furmint green, with a clean sparkle, firmness and sweetness. Very tasty when steeped cold. Enjoyable over many infusions, with a long-lasting aftertaste and energizing effect.

DOSAGE & BREWING GUIDELINE

A) Traditional way in a gaiwan/clay teapot: 3-5 grams + 150 ml water. According to the Gongfucha, it can be infused at 75°C, for 30 seconds, 8-10 times.

B) Modern brewing in a jug: 5 grams + 300-500 ml water. It can be infused at 75-80 C°, for 2 minutes, 2-3 times.
