STYLE

A small-sized teapot in the shape of a traditional Chinese drum-seat, ash gray, with an elegant and minimalist appearance. It has a mirror-like smooth yet soft-to-the-touch surface. The lid sits deeply within the body of the teapot and fits perfectly.

We have been in contact with the Xu family for a long time. Almost every family member lives and works near the Dragon Kiln in Dingshu village, Yixing city. Their teapots are in the old style and are completely handmade. The shapes often feature classic teapot forms with literary or pictorial connotations.

Qing Hui Ni teapots typically have a smooth, slightly grainy texture and a muted, earthy color that can range from light gray to darker green-gray tones, depending on the specific firing techniques and the presence of other minerals. The finished teapots are often highly prized for their unique, natural appearance and the way they develop a lustrous finish with use.
