CHARACTER

Excellent green tea serves as the basis for the jasmine scenting. Xue Pian or Snow Flakes is a slightly citrusy, fruity, very sweet bud tea. Underneath the bright, pleasant jasmine charm, the sweet, fruity, full, green tea character of this variety can be detected. The intense and light top note is jasmine, while the deeper, fuller flavour is the character of the base green tea.

The jasmine flower scenting originated in Persia, and came to China in the 3rd century. It became popular during the Song Dynasty in the 10th-13th centuries.

Medicinal benefits of jasmine

TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) also considers jasmine flower as a medicinal herb, in addition to being a common ingredient in Far Eastern beautifying and perfumery products. In terms of its effects, it is believed to relieve pain, reduce water retention, detoxify, strengthen the immune system and harmonize the body’s energies. Its fresh, clean scent neutralizes unpleasant odors. Helps to treat symptoms associated with cardiovascular diseases such as palpitations, difficulty breathing, headaches, dizziness.

DOSAGE & BREWING GUIDELINE

A) Traditional way in a gaiwan/clay teapot: 3-5 grams + 150 ml water. According to the Gongfucha, it can be boiled several times at 75°C, with 30 seconds infusions.

B) Modern brewing in a jug: 3-5 grams + 300-500 ml water.  It can be infused with 75 C° water 2-3 times after 2-3 minutes of brewing.
