A pale Japanese cherry blossom pink Shino chawan, with a glazed surface dotted with countless tiny pinholes and accented by soft white and rosy patches. This is a Mino-yaki (美濃焼) shino-glazed chawan. The ancient ceramic center of Gifu Prefecture is primarily known for these soft-touch, soft-glow cups. The chasen glides easily in the cup, and the gentle sheen of the glaze beautifully enhances the shades of the frothy tea.
