Description

ORIGIN & HARVEST TIME

Fujian, Mt. Wuyi, China, This 2024 harvest has been newly sourced and released in 2025

CHARACTER

This is a medium roasted version of the historical tea with beautifully rolled, whole leaves. The skilled roasting allows natural aromas to shine through the well known charcoal aroma. Beside the dark chocolate, charcoal and tobacco taste dried apricot, plum, warm spices and minerality (the classic rock rhyme) make the sip more round and enjoyable. The aftertaste is long and deep, inviting moments of reflection and allowing the complex aromas to be appreciated.

Wuyi Mountain is one of China’s oldest and historically significant tea-producing regions. The rocky terrain yields teas rich in trace elements and minerals of exceptional quality. As Lu Yu wrote in his 8th-century tea book: the finest teas grow among the rocks, the middling ones thrive on gravelly, sandy soil, and the weaker ones in yellow earth. The unique growing region, a maze of rocky cliffs and valleys, combined with the products distinctive processing methods and roasting techniques, ensures that this tea delivers a surprising yet enduring experience upon first consumption.
