CHARACTER
Perhaps the most enchanting and aesthetically pleasing teas, resembling tiny gold ornaments in an entirely unrealistic manner, are the golden Dian Hongs from Yunnan. We have had various Yunnan red teas with golden buds in our selection, ranging from delicately floral and light infusions to sticky honeyed ones reminiscent of tropical fruits, occasionally smoky and heavy, sometimes quite ordinary, while other times exceptionally aromatic variations.
Now, we have acquired a floral and honeyed, yet robust and complex autumn tea with far-reaching aromas and intense, almost pitch-dark infusions. From the autumn harvest, this is one of the finest batches available on the robust red tea front. If you are seeking softer, lighter varieties, the two spring teas, “Fragrant Grove” and “Golden Brush,” would be the appropriate choices.
