Description
STYLE
What can we say, here’s one possible shape of the perfect cup: a crackled ceramic with a perfect celadon base and elegant red calligraphy, a proportioned base that beautifully accentuates all teas, elegant yet understated, with a soft shine and feel. Yue bai, mist-coloured cup with red calligraphy.
The poem on the cup is by the Tang Dynasty poet Lu Tong.
“The first cup of tea moistens my lips and throat.
The second one breaks the loneliness in me.
The third tears through my parched insides,
to find there five thousand volumes of strange scribbles.
After the fourth cup of tea, a light sweat sits on my skin
– All that is bad is drained from me through my pores.
After the fifth cup, I am completely cleansed.
The sixth beckons me to the realm of immortality.
But be careful when you reach for the seventh cup – but now you don’t have to drink any more!
All I feel is the cool breeze in the sleeve of my shirt.
Where is Mount Penglaj?
Let me ride on the back of the soft breeze and fly there!”
