CHARACTER

As every Naka tea, this sheng puerh bursts with fruity flavors and sweet-spicy aromas. Alongside the sweet tartness of white-fleshed fruits, we can enjoy the familiar notes of compote, punch, and vanilla in the brew. It’s a tea that invites sip after sip — yet by the third infusion, it sweeps through you with great power, leaving a tingling sensation in every part of your body. That’s when we took a break. This is a high-energy, exceptionally strong tea — best approached when you’re ready to meet its power head-on.

Naka is a small Lahu village located in the Menghai District, near Mengsong. It manages about 33 hectares of tea gardens, specifically of the medium-leaf variety (zhong xiao ye zhong). The village is at an elevation of 1600-1700 meters in the partly tropical, highly rainfall-prone area of Xishuangbanna. This environment contributes to the strong character of the tea produced here. The villagers cultivate the local tea trees in a cooperative manner, with nearly all residents involved in tea farming. They process a small amount, only about 400-500 kg of tea.
