Ideal for everyday use, this atmospheric matcha chawan hails from Gifu, Japan’s region most renowned for its diverse and advanced glazing techniques.

Description

STYLE

A white chawan, reminiscent of pine forests on rocky mountain peaks. This is a Mino-yaki (美濃焼) shino-glazed chawan. The ancient ceramic center of Gifu Prefecture is primarily known for these soft-touch, soft-glow cups. The chasen glides easily in the cup, and the gentle sheen of the glaze beautifully enhances the shades of the frothy tea.
