CHARACTER

A sencha with an asparagus-like, vegetal aroma and a full-bodied taste, featuring warm, sweet, tomato and floral notes. The long aftertaste reveals a tangy, vegetal, and rich flavor. A great, crisp, strong, and mineral sencha that remains free of bitterness. This is also a master grade sencha from Keiho Takagi. Hoshinomura is famous for its beautiful terraced tea gardens. The clean water and air, as well as the unique soil that contains a lot of natural microorganisms and minerals called “thousands of rocks” give the tea extra vitamins, nutrient and unique character of the brew. The family plantations are in safer, foggy place between the pine wood forests near the Hoshino-gawa river.

DOSAGE & BREWING GUIDELINE

A) Traditional way in a houhin/kyusu teapot: 5-6 grams + 150-200 ml water. 70 C° water,  60 sec, 30 sec

B) Western brewing: 3-5 grams + 300-500 ml water.  Infuse with 70 C° water 2 times, for  1-2 minutes. / 2 inf.
