CHARACTER

The jasmine flower scenting originated in Persia and came to China in the 3rd century. It became popular during the Song Dynasty in the 10th-13th centuries.

TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) also considers jasmine inflorescence as a medicinal herb, in addition to being a common ingredient in Far Eastern beautifying and perfumery products. In terms of its effects, it is believed to relieve pain, reduce water retention, detoxify, strengthen the immune system and harmonize the body’s energies. Its fresh, clean scent neutralizes unpleasant odors. Helps to treat symptoms associated with cardiovascular diseases such as palpitations, difficulty breathing, headaches, dizziness.

DOSAGE & BREWING GUIDELINE

A) Traditional way in a gaiwan/clay teapot: 3-5 grams + 150 ml water. According to the Gongfucha, it can be boiled several times at 80°C, with 40-60 seconds infusions.

B) Modern brewing in a jug: 3-5 grams + 300-500 ml water.  It can be infused with 80 C° water 2-3 times after 2-3 minutes of brewing.
