Life is Like a Bird – Yixing Teapot | 125 ml Handmade, Excellent for Any Tea!

STYLE

A small-sized teapot with a short script from the famous Chinese poet Pan Yue (247-300): “a (man) life is like a bird, the bird flies away like a dream” . This expresses the transience of life and events, as well as the rapid change of natural phenomena and emotions, which are typical themes in Pan Yue’s poetry. On the other side of the teapot, there is an engraving of a bamboo. The bamboo symbolizes a character that is flexible, yet resilient.

We have been in contact with the Xu family for a long time. Almost every family member lives and works near the Dragon Kiln in Dingshu village, Yixing city. Their teapots are in the old style and are completely handmade. The shapes often feature classic teapot forms with literary or pictorial connotations.

Jiang Po Ni clay typically has a reddish-brown color, often with a slightly rough or coarse texture. The clay can range from light to deep red-brown color. It is known for its relatively coarse texture compared to other Yixing clays, which can give it a unique, earthy feel.
