CHARACTER
A very delicate tea with a soft, vanilla, fruity sweetness of the first infusions. The dry fragrance is fermented, honeyed, exciting, the aroma of the brew is particularly intense, cheesy, highly fermented, with a sweet base that nicely develops the apple and lemon flavours. The apple compote-like sweetness of the NAKA shengs is matched by a noticeable tea strength.
Naka is a small Lahu village located in the Menghai District, near Mengsong. It manages about 33 hectares of tea gardens, specifically of the medium-leaf variety (zhong xiao ye zhong). The village is at an elevation of 1600-1700 meters in the partly tropical, highly rainfall-prone area of Xishuangbanna. This environment contributes to the strong character of the tea produced here. The villagers cultivate the local tea trees in a cooperative manner, with nearly all residents involved in tea farming. They process a small amount, only about 400-500 kg of tea.
