CHARACTER
Longjing (Dragon Well) green tea is one of China’s most famous and beloved teas, known for its elegant and balanced flavor. The quality can vary depending on harvest time and origin (like Shi Feng, Mei Jia Wu, or West Lake), but overall, Longjing is prized for its graceful balance, clarity, and harmony between umami, sweetness, and green freshness. This is one of the most distinctive and treasured green teas in the world, made by roasting the tea in a pan for a short time. Due to the pan firing process the signature roasted chestnut note, especially in higher-quality Longjing makes the tea unique and delicate.
It is one of China’s national drinks, and is often given as a gift to heads of state and top leaders. The quality of the first spring harvest is a key determinant for the entire tea market and the annual harvest. It can also be poured into a glass with hot water, waiting for the leaves dancing.
